Potency

Why beta-glucan is the number that matters

Beta-glucan is the main active compound studied in medicinal mushrooms. Most mushroom supplements worldwide do not state its content at all — we do, for each extract separately.

The test is performed on the finished extract and not on the raw material, so the number reflects what is in the bottle. Mycelium grown on grain is mostly starch, which is why it reaches far lower values.

Purity

What we looked for and did not find

Lead, arsenic and mercury — not detected in any of the mushrooms, by ICP at an external laboratory.

Pesticide residues — no active compound quantified in a 610-compound screen, per the European standard.

Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) — below the limit of quantification in all of the mushrooms.

Transparency

The full certificate, not a summary of it

We publish the signed laboratory report in full for every extract — with its report number and sample code, so it can be verified against the laboratory itself.

Questions people ask before buying

When do you take it?

In the morning or at midday. Most people prefer it during active hours.

How long before you feel anything?

The range studied is four to eight weeks. This is not an effect you feel on day one.

Does it work like a cup of coffee?

No. Caffeine gives immediate alertness; this is a gradual effect examined over weeks.

Can I combine it with coffee?

Yes, there is no known reason not to. Many people take the extract in the morning alongside their coffee.

Are there side effects?

The extract is well tolerated by most people. If you take medication or have a diagnosed condition, consult a physician.

What is the dose, and how long does a bottle last?

The daily dose is about 1.4 ml. A 50 ml bottle lasts about 35 days of use, and a 100 ml bottle about 70 days.

Why lion’s mane in particular

Tested in humans

Lion’s mane is the only one of these mushrooms tested in controlled trials on cognitive function.

Not a stimulant

The effect is not immediate the way caffeine is. The range studied is four to eight weeks of consistent use.

Fruiting bodies only

Most lion’s mane powders on the market are mycelium on grain. We extract from fruiting bodies and measure the result.
